Blood is thicker than water

That’s what brothers Sohail and Arbaaz Khan prove in their next film with Jackie Shroff as their reel father
Blood is thicker than water
Real life brothers Sohail and Arbaaz Khan once again after Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na get to play reel life brothers in the melodramatic saga Kisaan thats releasing tomorrow.
A Sohail Khan Production, the films about a powerful father played by Jackie Shroff and his two sons Arbaaz and Sohail. It presents the rugged life of a simple farming family in modern day Punjab.
In real life, too, they are like my sons.
1x1 polls
Ive known them ever since they roamed around in half chaddis, said Jackie who plays farmer Dayal Singh. The films about the turmoil of this farmer who loves his family and his motherland.
As a producer, Sohail said he chose his brother because I felt the role suited Arbaaz bhai. And Jaggu Dada is his personal favourite. The film is close to my heart. Apart from it being a family drama, it deals with the heart-wrenching issue where debt-ridden farmers are killing themselves for small sums of Rs 10,000, added Sohail.
Kisaan also co-stars Dia Mirza, Nauheed Cyrusi and Dalip Tahil. Though the films not skirting the issue of the growing number of farmers suicide in the country, theres an instance where Dayals neighbour commits suicide for a similar reason. Thats when he decides to educate one of his sons and turns the other into a kisaan, said Jackie.
This film touches upon a lot of issues the farmers face but at the same time, its a commercial film, said Arbaaz, who plays the learned son.

Though majority of India lives in villages, we in urban India are hardly aware about the lives of the farmers there. That was the reason for making this film, said Sohail.
Jackie feels that though the films shot in rural Punjab, its not just meant for the sensibilities of the rural audience. Its about how an Indian family should be. Even an NRI will be able to relate to the topic, said Jackie.
